Halloween is officially over and it’s time to turn our attention to the next big holiday of the year – Daylight Savings Fall Back Sunday! Just kidding! We are turning the clocks back, though, to the major gift-giving holidays of the year, including Christmas (12/25), which started appearing at retail stores about a month ago, Chanukah (11/25-12/5) and Kwanzaa (12/26-1/1). I usually won’t discuss Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving, but we wanted to give you heads-up on some great new items from the Nickelodeon family of characters, especially with Chanukah following Thanksgiving so closely this year.

The resurgence of popularity of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (pardon my laziness, but I’ll refer to them from here on out as “TMNT”) is evident in the new line-up of TMNT toys, apparel, home goods and more. My personal favorites are the LEGO toys (always and ever a LEGO fan).

If you’ve got a big enough family, you can form your own TMNT band! If your kids’ band is already set up with instruments, you can accessorize (sorry for the poor lighting quality of the photo) the instruments or even turn the little musicians into TMNTs.

Playmates offers a TMNT Secret Sewer Lair Playset that has been enhanced size-wise and in the details.

Dora is seen throughout the Nickelodeon collection, from toys to home goods and just about everything in between. The biggest items are the KidKraft Dora Dollhouse and the KidKraft Dora Kitchen. They are both beautifully constructed with real wood and subtle little elements from Dora. The stove in the kitchen even lights up to simulate a gas stove in operation.

The hot new Dora toy is the Skate & Spin Dora and Boots. With a variety of songs and moves, your kids will have fun dancing around the floor with them.

I can’t have been the only child who was convinced that fairies are real. Imagine learning that you are a fairy! Nickelodeon has brought Bloom and the Winx Club to our toy chests with their new line of fashion dolls, complete with accessories.

There is a big assortment of stocking stuffer items available: BandAids (which come with Magic Vision, an app for iPhones and iPads which brings the characters on the bandages to life), toothbrushes, mini flashlights, and some new versions of old favorites like Gak and Floam, which now come in funky scents and some even glow.

The holidays are all about redecorating and here’s your chance to bring that fun into your kids’ bedrooms. Spongebob, TMNT and Dora fans will go nuts for these bedroom suites.

If you’re not ready for a complete redo, you can always accessorize with these adorable lights.

I love these new coloring books. The metallics are magical and sure to be a hit with the little ones.

There are books for kids and collectors

And some fun games for kids, including an ingenious one with interchangeable boards to extend the playing fun.

These are probably every kid’s favorite present to unwrap and these Nickelodeon electronics will guarantee lots of grateful hugs and kisses on holiday mornings. Again, among the individual electronics items, you’ll find accessories to enhance your existing electronics, too.

Among the apps and games is a new version of TMNT for older kids and adults. The graphics are impressive.

Which leads us to every kids’ worst present to open: clothes. Don’t worry, though, Nickelodeon’s new clothing items will make you your kids’ favorite personal shopper! My favorites are in the Ice Cream line, which was designed by Pharrell Williams, who is, I’ve been told, a huge Spongebob Squarepants fan.

The big kids and adults haven’t been left out, either. Check out these pajamas, especially the TMNT onesies:
