PHOTO Alert: Busch Gardens Lion Cubs Celebrate First Halloween

Last spring, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay received three lion cubs from South Africa.  Visitors can watch the lions grow in the Edge of Africa area of the theme park, and, right now, the young lions are experiencing their first taste of an American holiday tradition – Halloween.  Continue reading for photos of Busch Gardens lion cubs discovering pumpkins in the park.

Three of Busch Gardens Tampa’s newest additions are celebrating Halloween with a little less tricks and a little more treats.  In true Halloween tradition, lion cubs Kembe, Shaba and Shtuko indulged in their very own pumpkins.

Fall is the perfect time to experience Busch Gardens during the day to enjoy the cooler, crisp weather.  For a limited time, Florida residents can take advantage of the perfect fall day at the park with Busch Gardens’ $50 Weekday Pass, available on BuschGardens.com.


Thrill seekers also have two more weekends to brave “The 13” and experience Tampa Bay’s premier Halloween event.  Howl-O-Scream runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, now through Oct. 26.  The operating hours are 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. on all event nights.


General admission to Howl-O-Scream is $89 plus tax.  Reduced advance-purchase rates and special offers are available for Busch Gardens pass members at HowlOScream.com.  A $39 savings on general admission tickets is available in advance at participating Publix Supermarkets and AAA locations or with promotional codes found at participating Taco Bell and Applebee’s locations in Central Florida.
