On Saturday Oct 5th I had the opportunity to experience SeaWorld Orlando’s Halloween offerings – their Halloween Spooktacular. Admittedly, like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, the focus is on younger children and nothing is “scary.” Continue reading for a VIDEO recap of the Halloween event that’s included with your regular SeaWorld admission.
Photo courtesy SeaWorld Orlando © 2013 SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. All Rights Reserved.Unlike other Theme Park Halloween celebrations, the entire SeaWorld theme park is not decorated for Halloween. There is a designated Halloween Spooktacular “Undersea Kingdom” inhabited by Princesses and delightful Pumpkinfish creatures. They welcome you into their bubble filled world with friendship and kindness. Candy stations are plentiful, and bags provided for collection.
While the characters are colorful and whimsical, they are unknown and feel a bit odd at first. Each is unique, and there is a cohesive story around a Princess Penelope.
There is a “Decorate Your Own Cookie” area and while it costs extra, did provide some shade and fun to many children. You can see a lot more of the cookie decorating in the video.
SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular was fun, and I particularly enjoyed the addition of Animal Meet & Greets with trainers and handlers that educated children on exotic species. It may not have been an extensive celebration throughout the park but keep in mind this is not a separate ticketed event. It is available to anyone visiting SeaWorld each weekend through October 27, 2013.
